Usually my mixes originate from me just starting up some records and pushing record. I guess I'm kinda lazy in that way. If they turn out pretty good, I post them. For this one, I mixed for about an hour and then pushed record. I think being warmed up really pays off.
This set is inspired by my friends at Deep House Originals. The first Saturday of each month at Baltic and every Friday at Temple Billiards, they bring the old skool House vibe of Chicago legends to our coastal town. Craig Alexander, Mark Grant, Theo Parish, Glen Underground and Rick Wilhite.. and in the near future, among others, Minx! I started thinking about who my influences are of House music and how West Coast I really am. While I devour anything that DJ Heather (Chicago), Robsoul Recordings (France) or Ty Tek (Denver) even hum, my Heart is in Seattle. But my Soul, my friends, is definately in San Francisco.
