NEXT GIG: Sun Nov 6 @ The Chapel

My shameless debut for CO-OP @ The Chapel
Sun Nov 6th Time TBA
No Cover and $2 Stella's!

A Little, boy, Crazy!

Yesterday, when I returned to a house filled with 4 empty kegs, bottles stacked Sarah Cynthia Silvia Stout-style in our back foyer, garbage bags torn from PVC piping and a head-less Jason sitting in the rocking chair in our smoking garage, I heard my kitty meowing loudly from the neighbor's hard. He was hiding underneath their house, scared to jump over the fence and witness 400 people crunched into various corners of the Leschi Lounge. That's how I felt, too, after our Groovin' Ghoules V Halloween party.... Here's why -- a clip from the Evite that shows how many people ended up on our guest list:

Yikes!.... I'm still a little in shock right now, and like Willow , all I can do in the aftermath is clean. Until some pictures come in (If you have some, please send to jen woolfe at gmail), I'll talk a little about our trip to San Francisco in Sept. Enjoy.

O and P.S.! Halloween in my favorite birthday! Happy Birthday to my Blog who is now 1 year old!! http://www.jenwoolfe.com/2004_10_01_jenwoolfe_archive.html

A Little Boy Crazy

During my SF trip last month, I had the fortune of spending a few crazy nights with Sokolicky's sis and her grrl friends, all in town from Prague. They were in SF for Sus's wedding, but for these girls, every night out on the town is a bacheloretty party.

Sokojuju and the Eurogrrls love boys. They also love traveling, fine dining, dancing, and drinking. They love each other, they love J-dub and Sokolicky, but mostly, they love boys. All kinds of boys. Tall, skinny, black yellow green. As long as they are fun . Or drunk.

The scheme is simple. First, a slice of the city . Then, a little rest and a lovely dinner followed by cocktails. Very soon, they spot some tasty treats, do some voodoo magic and voila! The boys are soon devising a plan to charm the pants off them.
'I know', they say, 'more drinks!' Little do they know they are under the Eurogrrls spell and the rest of the night is out of their hands!
The boys never know where the Eurogrrls will take them.
'Follow me', says Sokojuju.
Sometimes they go to a bar. Sometimes to a house party. Sometimes to an undisclosed location.
Every once in a while, the Eurogrrls are tricked! This time, it was a supposed house party, with quote, 'Everything you want.'
'Will there be dancing?' asks Nicola.
'Will there be drinks?' Asks Sokojuju.
'Will there be Men?' asks Kristina.
'Will we be treated like Rockstars?' asks J-dub.

'Yes,' they say.

But the Eurogirls were tricked! No dancing, no Rockstar treatment, no men ... and no party. We think those boys had cheerleader envy. So we did what any Eurogrrl would do. We drank their booze and left for a more exciting destination. So screw you.

The next day, the girls start fresh. A little rest, un caffè, and Voila! good as new. More sites of the city, dinner with friends only this time with cookies! Then off to the bars.

'Stop me before I hit on the cabbie.' says Kristina.
Nicola is behind the cabbie, much easier access.
But Sokojuju is in the front. Where are her hands??
The cabbie, drunk with love.
More boys and debauchery and a little taste of Americano.
'The bay is lovely, girls, but to find boys that really know how to party, come to Prague!'

While I can't remember what I did on Friday, I do remember that Saturday was an absolute blast. I DJ'd at a 'welcome home' party for my friend Kristi, who spent 2 months in Greece, that lucky bitch. We held the party, once again, at our favorite (muff) dive bar in Seattle, the Double Header. We love the D.H. Not only for it's whitty (baseball) name and it's $3 Alaskan Amber's, but for it's history and it's locals (and the fact that you can rent it out for nothin'). And even though we may only have a few dozen people there for what we've begun to call 'Boobs and Beers', we're always bringing the vibe. Here is a synopsis of how the evening went, thanks especially to photos by Masil Q.

Schoolin' Star and Momo on audio. Is there a female to female plugin?
Already the locals are giggin'.
Holla to all y'all, get on the dance
floor.
Ask and ye
shall.
My mom'll like this
photo.
Getting some Home Cookin' - one of my current fav
records.
A Rising
Star.
Masil flashes her burning man smile a year
early.
Mudd says, 'No really, I saw it myself. Sokolicky came straight outta
space'.
You can always spot the aliens by their
tails.
Should'n't you be getting me a
beer?
Twisted
sista's.
'Is the camera fuzzy or are we
drunk?'
Liz, the founder of Boobs and Beers.
'Git on down,
sista.'
Wade, Jenny and friends show
support.
Brad enjoys the D.H.
vibe.
The Fish is one hot water
mammal!
The Orphans and the locals, gettin'
down.
The Orphans and the locals, gettin' it
up!
Ah, another
alien!
Uh huh, that's
right.
Hei and Dry (yea,
sure).
The locals really do love us. Maybe too
much.
The artist at
work.
My new favorite
DJ photo, thanks Masil!!
After another night of fun, the dj
rests.

Boys and their CockTail

Parties. They are so fun. Unless you have to clean up after them. Of course, if you ever want to have a kick-ass party and NOT clean up... host a CockTail party. Ten minutes after the party is over, your liquor cabinets will be twice as stocked, your house will be cleaner than before the party started, there will be 3 pounds of assorted olives in the fridge, and you'll still have toilet paper. 'Hey now,' says Hei. I keep my kitchen clean just as good as any homo!

Richie Rich was in town from Boston, a perfect occation for some cocktails. I mean, I had to do SOMETHING kewl, considering a Holiday party that he booked me for landed me a free trip to Europe.

Doug tells Sokolicky, 'I've brought the booze, darling.'

J-dub is stoked to try out the new CD-J's, care of Cape Girl and Berry (caution: may contain tits).

Shein's gone Cuntry, but it's House music makes the room Happy.

Sokolicky receives orders from the mothership.
'Momo is an Orphan', it says. 'Turn Momo into a Rockstar'.
'Wait', says Sokolicky. 'She's already a
Rockstar.'
'Oops', says the mothership. 'Sorry, wrong guy. It's Pete! Turn Pete into a Rockstar.'

Unbeknownst to them, the breeders have been trapped in the glow closet. 'Ouch! The light!

Shein asks Momo, 'I could pass for gay, right?'
'Wait,'Hold up now!'

All in all, the cocktail party was a sucksess. And Richie Rich once again reminds us 'front and center, baby'. He's an origional Rockstar. 'I'm hungry,' he says, 'Anyone else feel like getting a Taco?'

PS A picture of the sunrise. To squash any rumors that our parties end before dawn.

NEW MIX! will spin for sushi

Missy took me to lunch last week and said she's listened to my online mixes so often that she can hear the mistakes. I promptly recorded her a new one. It's called 'Will Spin for Sushi'.

POP Quiz! Missy is the soul owner of a recording I did a LONG time ago on cassette tape. What is the name of the set?

Taco Envy

Wanted to mention what a great time I had spinning at Pete's Decompression B-day party last week. I hope to post some pictures from that night soon. Also had a great time last night spinning at Richie Rich's 'Seattle loves you' bash at the Leschi Lounge. And why do most of the boys I know love Taco Bell after a night of the drinkie and dancie? Do they have Taco Envy?

tacos for the weekend ...

Pumpin' up the Gems

I had a great time DJ'ing at Viceroy last night. At about 5pm, Zac called me to explain the format of the weekly Wednesday. 'Shaken not Stirred' is a night for DJ's to pull out their Gems regardless of genre and play to a chill and trendy crowd chatting on plush couches and an outdoor patio that catches the fragrance of the sea. I pulled out a dusty box of CD's from the far reaches of my closet consisting of about 50 album cases that have made it through high school crushes, college dorm pre-funks and what I call the 'Lilith phase.' Half of them were empty. Somehow I always manage to give all my favorite albums away. I love them so much that I give them away in hopes that everyone else will love them, too. But the ones that remained intact, along with some stunning House records I've obtained in the past 5 years, managed to fit in with the lovely vibe at Viceroy.

Minx, Chics, and Burning Man Pics

Thanks to all who made it out for DJ Minx at Contour afterhours and LSC on Sat. It was a great night and Minx had a super weekend in Seattle. Did I ever mention her addiction to one of the (many) best vegetarian restaurants in the city, Cafe Flora? I think Flora and the Hitgirls are her two of her favorite things about Seattle.

Last night I was a dirty girl. We went on a double date to a different kind of dance club in downtown Seattle. I don't have a lot of experience in that realm, but I do have to say that the staff was extremely friendly, the patrons were very respectable, and the dancers were very sexy and fun. I do have some passes for free entry left over (not that kind of entry), so if anyone wants one, gimme a holla via email. Do say hello to Peaches when you go down.

And alas, I finally have Burning Man pictures online for your enjoyment. I have to note that some of the photos are not ours and are not from this year, but the photographers in those cases are endorsed by the filename. Also please caution that some of these photos may contain tits. Even more exciting, though, is a program that Cape Girl told me about called Picasa that I should implement at some point to get rid of my nasty images page that only shows the directory instead of a nice photo gallery.
